Rebekah’s Closet Update
Ten month’s ago, Rebekah’s Closet opened her doors for the first time at the United Congregational Church of Holyoke. The opening was noted with blessings from Pastors Chuck and Bobbie with a few friends present.
Since we opened, the Closet has provided needed baby supplies and clothing to 32 moms of 40 infants and children. In appreciation, some moms have already returned to donate additional items their babies have outgrown so others can benefit as they did.
I thank the Church membership for your continued moral and financial support as well as donations of clothing, tubs, seats, carriers, and other baby and toddler supplies. The special blankets, hats and sweaters knitted by our members made several visiting moms especially happy. Each of the moms and grandmothers we helped expressed how our Church has filled a special void for their infants and toddlers. They asked me to express their gratitude to all of you.
I also thank our Youth Group for their generous monthly financial donations used to buy diapers and wipes. Their help for Rebekah’s Closet comes from money earned at the youth dances.
Please drop in any time…we are open every Wednesday, 10 am to 2 pm. We will be happy to see you. And, if you wish to help out a bit…that would be nice, too. The Closet is located on the Mezzanine, in Classroom 5.
Again, thank you and God bless you all…from the moms and grandmothers that you have helped.
