Silent Movies – A unique offering combines that art of the silent movie era with musical accompaniment on the organ. The sound of the church’s pipe organs as live accompaniment to silent films is special. There are two exceptional Pipe Organs at the United Congregational Church of Holyoke. E.M. Skinner Opus 322 located in the main concert hall and sanctuary of the church and the E.M. Skinner Opus 179 located in the Skinner Memorial Chapel. This instrument was rebuilt in the 1990s with the inclusion of elements that used to reside in the Victory Theater, just a couple of blocks away from the church.

This video by Peter Krasinski gives good background info about the silent movies.
